Bureau Veritas Indonesia Contributes as Key Speakers at KMI–SKK Migas Sumbagsel Workshop on Operational Reliability and Sustainability
Feb. 10 2026
Bureau Veritas Indonesia proudly participated as key speakers in the Komunitas Migas Indonesia (KMI) and SKK Migas Sumbagsel Workshop held in Palembang, 22 January 2026 with a focus on enhancing operational reliability through Process Safety Asset Integrity Management (PSAIM), advanced inspection technologies, carbon trading and tax readiness, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) implementation.
The workshop was officially opened by Yunianto, Head of the SKK Migas Sumbagsel Representative Office, and served as a knowledge-sharing platform for more than 30 representatives of K3S (Kontraktor Kontrak Kerja Sama) oil and gas stakeholders operating in the Sumbagsel (South Sumatra) region.
“I hope that through this workshop, oil and gas production can be increased. Currently, the industry has not found any new giant or big fish discoveries, while natural well decline is around 20%. Therefore, we must leverage technology to help mitigate natural decline through various innovative and out-of-the-box breakthroughs,” said Yunianto, Chief Representative of SKK Migas Sumbagsel.
Key Technical and Sustainability Themes
Throughout the sessions, participants explored practical approaches to strengthening operational excellence and sustainability readiness across oil and gas operations.
Operational Reliability and Asset Integrity
Bureau Veritas Indonesia shared insights on enhancing operational reliability through the implementation of PSAIM (Process Safety Asset Integrity Management). Discussions emphasized the importance of integrated process safety and asset integrity frameworks to reduce operational risks and support long-term asset performance.
“The implementation of PSAIM strengthens industrial resilience for sustainability and in addressing climate change challenges,” said Deddy Syam, Key Account Executive for Pertamina, Bureau Veritas Indonesia.
Advanced Inspection Technologies
The workshop also highlighted advanced inspection solutions, including FLIR thermography and Smart Tank technologies, showcasing how innovative inspection tools can support early detection, improve asset monitoring, and enable more informed decision-making across facilities.
“I hope to be able to try the Smart Tank solution on site and to have further consultations related to carbon credits,” shared Hari, one of the workshop participants.
Sustainability, ESG, and Carbon Tax Readiness
In collaboration with strategic partner PT Biro Nusaprima, the sessions addressed sustainability performance through ESG implementation and carbon tax readiness. The discussions provided participants with insights into regulatory preparedness and practical steps to strengthen sustainability strategies amid Indonesia’s evolving energy transition landscape.
Project Effectiveness and Management Best Practices
Together with PT Prosys Bangun Persada, BV Indonesia’s strategic partner, the workshop also covered best practices in Project Management Consultancy (PMC), focusing on improving project effectiveness, governance, and execution across complex oil and gas projects.
Interactive Engagement and Industry Dialogue
The workshop was highly interactive, with active participation from attendees through dynamic discussions and Q&A sessions. Participants exchanged perspectives on operational challenges, sustainability considerations, and project execution experiences, reflecting a strong collaborative spirit among industry stakeholders.
Strengthening Industry Readiness
Overall, the workshop supported oil and gas industry players in strengthening operational excellence, sustainability readiness, and project effectiveness amid evolving regulatory requirements and energy transition challenges. The event was officially closed by Bambang Dwi Djanuarto, Head of Operations Department, SKK Migas Sumbagsel.
