Strengthening Economic Ties: Bureau Veritas Indonesia Participates in French Trade Delegation Visit
Mei. 5 2025
Jakarta, Indonesia – 9 April 2025
As part of a strategic visit to deepen bilateral economic cooperation between France and Indonesia, Mr Laurent Saint-Martin, French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad, held a series of high-level meetings in Jakarta on 8–9 April 2025. Accompanied by Mr Fabien Penone, Ambassador of France to Indonesia, the visit marked a significant milestone in the strengthening relationship between the two nations—particularly ahead of the planned state visit by French President Emmanuel Macron later this year.
During his visit, Mr Saint-Martin met with key Indonesian officials, including Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani. The discussions centred on enhancing collaboration in trade, investment, infrastructure, and innovation—areas where French companies have made a notable contribution to Indonesia’s development.
In addition to official dialogues, Mr Saint-Martin engaged with representatives of the French business community in Indonesia, which today comprises around 200 companies contributing up to €5 billion to the local economy. Among the industry leaders in attendance was Mr Radoaine Hachemaine, Business Improvement Expert at Bureau Veritas Indonesia. His participation reaffirmed Bureau Veritas’s long-standing commitment to supporting Indonesia’s progress through trusted expertise in quality assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services across key sectors.
“Our presence in Indonesia reflects not only our operational commitment but also our shared values in sustainability, innovation, and integrity. We are proud to be part of this broader economic dialogue,” Mr Hachemaine shared during the event.
As Indonesia and France approach the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2025, both countries look forward to expanding their cooperation in alignment with evolving economic priorities. Mr Saint-Martin expressed optimism about the future of this partnership, particularly under the leadership of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and the formation of Indonesia’s new government.
This visit underscores the role of economic diplomacy and the shared vision between Indonesia and France in building resilient, future-oriented economies—where companies like Bureau Veritas continue to play an essential role.
